Like a lot of people in fitness, I started out with the mindset that harder was always better. More intensity, more volume, push through everything. That was the only way I knew.
Then I tore my meniscus while running.
That injury stopped me in my tracks. And honestly, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me as a coach. Going through that recovery process forced me to completely rethink what training should actually accomplish.
I realized I was not invincible. And if I wanted to be healthy and active for the long term, I had to be smarter. Not just harder.

Instead of chasing intensity, I started focusing on movement quality, recovery, and intelligent progression. I learned how the body actually adapts and how to build programs that strengthen it instead of breaking it down.
That shift is the foundation of Active Body Recovery. Everything I build for clients today comes from that experience because I know what it feels like to be injured, frustrated, and unsure if you will ever feel like yourself again.
And I know what it takes to come back stronger.
